We are hosting our first Parish Ultreya on Thursday, May 23, 2012 from 6 – 8 pm.
Ultreya is the Spanish word meaning “Onward!”. It is a gathering of those who have attended a Cursillo weekend and those interested in attending a Cursillo weekend.
We will meet first in the Sanctuary for an opening prayer, some singing, and 4 short talks. We will move on to the parish hall for a potluck spaghetti dinner, followed by some table discussion. This is an opportunity for those interested in attending the next Cursillo weekend to be matched up with someone who has attended to be their sponsor.
Cursillo is the Spanish word meaning “short course”. Cursillo began in Spain in an effort to get the men back in church. Today Cursillo is used to enlighten parishioners on the true meaning of Christ’s unconditional love for us, the power of prayer, and the blessings received by following Christ.
The next Cursillo weekend will be held October 10 – 13, 2013 at Day Spring.
Enjoy the yearly Jasmine bloom – you can almost smell the pictures !
