This Sunday, December 3, Bishop Dabney Smith will be with us all day long. It is a big day for us at Annuncation.
He will preach at both the 8am and 10:30am services. He will conduct an open forum between the services.
At 4pm Bishop Dabney Smith will officiate at the Celebration of a New Ministry service to install Father Matthew as our Rector. Bishop Michael Garrison will preach at this service. Many guests are expected at this service including many priests from our Diocese, Father Matthew’s family members, and our church family.
Following this service all guests are invited to a big reception as we celebrate this grand occasion.

The Manatee Players at the Manatee Performing Arts Center is just completing their first show of the season, Mame. One of our youth, Lily Meaker, was the Assistant Stage Manager. Good job, Lily. The play was good too.
The 2017 scholarship recipients are Natalie Colwell, McRae Smith, Nikki Cecchetti, and Sarah Cecchetti. Nikki and McRae also received Bibles with their names embossed on them.
We are seeking a few people to volunteer to serve as ushers.

We are hosting our first Parish Ultreya on Thursday, May 23, 2012 from 6 – 8 pm.
Ultreya is the Spanish word meaning “Onward!”. It is a gathering of those who have attended a Cursillo weekend and those interested in attending a Cursillo weekend.
We will meet first in the Sanctuary for an opening prayer, some singing, and 4 short talks. We will move on to the parish hall for a potluck spaghetti dinner, followed by some table discussion. This is an opportunity for those interested in attending the next Cursillo weekend to be matched up with someone who has attended to be their sponsor.
Cursillo is the Spanish word meaning “short course”. Cursillo began in Spain in an effort to get the men back in church. Today Cursillo is used to enlighten parishioners on the true meaning of Christ’s unconditional love for us, the power of prayer, and the blessings received by following Christ.
The next Cursillo weekend will be held October 10 – 13, 2013 at Day Spring.
